About
As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems. Nestled at 8940 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland, IN, Miner-Dunn emerges as an iconic diner that captures the essence of authentic Americana. With a legacy of serving delightful comfort food, this local spot is famed for its burgers, sandwiches, and hearty salads.
The offerings at Miner-Dunn are nothing short of legendary. Their burger selection, which include options like the classic MinerDunn Hamburger and the indulgent Bacon Cheeseburger, showcases a commitment to using high-quality ingredients; each patty is made from a generous 14 pounds of lean ground beef. It’s no wonder the reviews rave about the juicy, mouth-watering flavors that are apparent in every bite. A visit would not be complete without trying their homemade fries and the brightly colored orange swirl sherbet, a nostalgic treat that keeps guests craving more.
Salads are also a star on the menu, featuring options like the Chef's Salad and the refreshing Caesar Salad, both making for a perfect light meal or side dish. But if you're in the mood for something heartier, the Deluxe Reuben or a good old-fashioned Grilled Ham & Cheese hits the spot. Each dish reflects a dedication to quality and a passion for classic diner food.
What really sets Miner-Dunn apart is its inviting atmosphere. Diners are welcomed into a homestyle setting that harkens back to a simpler time. Guests rave about the friendly service—a quality that seems to stem from genuine hospitality. As one reviewer noted, it's the kind of place where the servers might just give you a little extra treat with a smile.
In an era where many establishments overlook the importance of tradition, Miner-Dunn stands out with its retro look and warm ambiance. It’s the perfect spot for families, friends, or anyone craving a satisfying meal in a setting filled with nostalgia. So next time you find yourself in Highland, IN, make sure to swing by without hesitation. Embrace the charm of this local diner and dive into a plate of food that feels like home.
“ A wonderful treat after the 2022 blizzard before Christmas. We use to come to this place regularly for a good burger and nothing has changed. As far as diners go, this is as authentic as they come. If you order a "deluxe" burger it will get you fries and a sherbet treat (orange, vanilla, or swirl). My server was a sweetie and offered hospitality with a smile (and perhaps a little extra swirl to my sherbet because I don't remember it being that tall). UPDATE: Revisited and everything is business as usual and just as enjoyable of a visit as last time. I ordered the Homemade meatloaf that comes with mashed potatoes or fries and green beans. A fun and authentic old diner experience. ”
“ Old school burger joint serving homemade fries, homemade onion rings, homemade orange sherbet and yummy smash burgers before smash burgers were a ‘thing’!!! Did I mention HOMEMADE?!!!! ”
“ This is a great local diner! I ordered the Western Burger (Deluxe) The burger was big & delicious. Also ordered the Major Dunn... So good! The fries were great and the vanilla/orange swirl ice cream was great as well. Service and atmosphere was great and what you'd expect from a small local diner. We went during peak hours so they were busy and our order took about 15 minutes to get out to us after ordering but I'm ok with that especially with a busy locally ran spot. Highly recommend this diner if your looking for good burgers or a good meal in general. ”
“ Quiet, homestyle, welcoming feel establishment. Love the soup choices and the burgers were on point. Has a retro look with the diner experience. Would definitely return! ”
“ Stopped here as I was in the area and impressed with the previous reviews, and boy, I wasn't disappointed! The service was great and the food was delicious! The value for your money is here as well! I would definitely stop here again if I'm in the area. ”
“ The atmosphere, decor, staff, food... everything about this place was fantastic. Had the Highland Burger with fries, cherry pie, and orange sherbet/vanilla ice cream twist. I’ll be coming here every time I’m back in town. Great place. ”
“ Delicious food and prices were very reasonable, especially in comparison to some other competing burger chains in the area. I loved their california soup!! Dine in seating was a little cramped( we were a group of 4 with a baby) but I liked the 1950s atmosphere,as it was authentic and not a recreated theme or something. ”
“ Great Burgers and awesome quick service at 1pm on a weds! The potato soup and miner dunn biggest burger is worth the money! Best burger i had in years! It lasted me two meals! ”
